    Housecall Cat Grooming

What do I need to prepare before my cat's grooming session?

Our groomer will bring all necessary grooming equipment, such as a grooming table or non-slip mat, electric clippers, shears, and force dryers. Here are some things you need to prepare:

    • A space ready for the groomer to work in, preferably a room to prevent fur from getting everywhere.
    • An accessible electrical power point for power supply.
    • Two clean towels for your pet (if a bath is involved).
    • For light cleanup: a plastic trash bag, a vacuum cleaner, or a broom and dustpan.
    • For appointments that include bathing, please provide access to a bathroom or a shower space for the groomer to use.

What does my cat groomer need to know before the session begins?

Please inform our groomers of any illnesses, injuries/wounds, or aggressive/unpredictable tendencies that your pet might have.

Do I need to provide any cat grooming equipment?

No, our professional groomers bring everything needed, including brushes, clippers, towels, and cat-safe shampoos.

How long does a house call cat grooming session take?

Depending on the service, sessions typically range from 60 to 90 minutes.

What’s the difference between salon and housecall cat grooming? Which should I choose?

Housecall cat grooming is best for quick coat maintenance and is ideal for cat owners who:

    • Struggle to bring their cats outdoors for professional grooming.
    • Need assistance with basic hygiene care at home.
    • Have cats that are only comfortable being groomed in their home environment.

However, housecall grooming is not a replacement for a full, comprehensive salon grooming session, which includes professional tools and deeper coat care.

If your cat requires full grooming, de-shedding, or advanced coat treatments, salon grooming would be the better option.

Is housecall grooming suitable for first-time or fearful cats?

If your cat has never been groomed before, we recommend starting with an Express Groom. This shorter session allows the groomer to assess your cat’s comfort level and determine if housecall grooming is a suitable long-term option. If your cat is too fearful for a bath or the sound of a hair dryer, a dry bath may be recommended instead.

Is house call cat grooming safe for senior or special-needs cats?

Yes! House call grooming is ideal for elderly, disabled, or medically sensitive cats who may struggle with travel or traditional salon visits. Our groomers take extra care to ensure their comfort.

Can I assist the groomer during my cat’s housecall grooming session?

Yes! If the groomer feels that your presence would help keep your cat calm and secure, they may ask for your assistance in holding your cat. This is only done when it enhances your cat’s comfort and ensures a safer grooming experience. Your cat’s well-being is our top priority, and grooming will only proceed if it can be done in a calm and controlled manner.

My cat has matted fur. Can housecall grooming handle it?

No, we do not provide matted or pelted coat removal as part of our housecall grooming services. Matt removal requires specialized salon tools, professional expertise, and, if needed, additional assistance for the groomer’s safety.

If your cat has matting, we strongly recommend booking a Classic or Signature Groom at our salon to ensure safe and effective removal.

However, if there are loose mats that naturally come off during undercoat removal, the groomer will try to remove them. If your cat has significant matting, the groomer will advise you on the best course of action, which may include scheduling an in-salon appointment for proper mat removal.

What if my cat has fleas, mites, or parasites during the grooming session?

If the groomer discovers signs of fleas, mites, or other parasites, they will notify you immediately and provide recommendations for next steps. This may include a visit to the vet for treatment or scheduling an in-salon grooming appointment, as parasite management is not included in housecall services. To prevent discomfort and the spread of parasites, affected cats should receive treatment before their next grooming session. Thank you for your understanding!

What happens if my cat becomes too reactive or stressed during grooming?

While home environments can be more comfortable for cats, some may still react unpredictably. Before proceeding, the groomer will assess your cat’s temperament. If the groomer determines that it is unsafe to continue, the session will be stopped. In such cases, the full session fee will still apply to cover the groomer’s time and transport.

Can I switch to salon grooming if my cat is uncooperative?

If your cat is uncooperative during housecall cat grooming, you will need to book a new appointment for salon grooming here. The housecall appointment fee will still be charged, and fees will not be offset against the salon service.

What is your payment and cancellation policy?

Payment is required in full at the time of booking. You can cancel or modify your appointment for free up to 48 hours in advance.

If you cancel or reschedule after this period, 50% of the payment will be retained.

Our prices are fixed unless additional services like dematting or undercoat removal are needed, which will be quoted after assessing your cat’s skin and coat.
