Frequently Asked Questions

Who are these courses designed for?

These courses are designed for individuals who want to enter the cat care industry responsibly, as well as those already working with cats who want to strengthen their foundations. This includes aspiring groomers, assistants, and career switchers who are serious about learning cat-only grooming.

Do I need prior grooming or animal experience to start?

No prior professional grooming experience is required for the Professional Cat Grooming Immersion Programme. However, students should be comfortable handling cats and be prepared for hands-on learning. More advanced courses require completion of earlier stages or equivalent experience.

When will the course commence?

The course will commence based on the confirmed schedule arranged with enrolled students. Upon confirmation, students will receive further instructions, including toolkit purchase information.

Flexible scheduling options are available based on trainer and salon availability.

Is the certification awarded at the end of the course considered SKC-C/equivalent?

The certificate awarded at the end of our course is not an SKC(or equivalent) certification. SKC / ISFC certifications are issued only by their respective bodies and require candidates to sit for their official exams, which typically involve bringing your own cat model and following exam-specific rules.

Our course is designed to prepare and support students toward that pathway, rather than replace it. Regular lessons focus on building strong foundations in handling, grooming skills, and professional judgement. When students are ready to pursue SKC / ISFC certification, they can progress into our Certificate Preparation Course, which focuses specifically on exam requirements, model preparation, time management, and mock exams.

In short, we guide students from foundations all the way through to external certification, for those who choose to pursue it.

Will I be supported if I want to pursue SKC / ISFC certification later?

Yes. Students who wish to pursue external certification can progress into our Certificate Preparation Course, which focuses specifically on exam rules, etiquette, model preparation, time management, and mock exams when official exam dates are announced.

Do students need to bring their own cat for the exam? Are there any required materials?

Students may choose to bring their own model cat for the exam or request an exam model to be provided.

Yes. Hands-on learning is a core part of our training. All practical sessions are supervised closely, and techniques are taught progressively, with feline comfort and safety as the priority.

Is this course suitable if I only want to groom my own cat?

These courses are structured as professional-level training, with a strong focus on handling, judgement, and responsibility. While they are designed for those entering or progressing in the cat care industry, cat owners who want a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of grooming are also welcome!
