From 1 August, your $40 grooming deposit will cover a Grooming Assessment instead of simply securing your appointment. Nothing changes to the amount you pay → the deposit will continue to be waived from your final bill once your grooming appointment is completed!
Your Grooming Assessment includes:
- Confirmation of your appointment and reservation of your groomer's time
- The first 30 minutes of your grooming session, including:
- Skin & coat assessment
- Behavioral handling assessment
- Stress & welfare assessment
- Grooming feasibility assessment
- Your groomer's professional recommendation on the safest grooming approach
- Initial grooming work where appropriate (such as nail clipping or undercoat removal)
Every cat has a unique temperament. If your groomer feels it's not safe or in your cat's best interest to continue, they'll pause the session and discuss the available options with you.
- Continue with the groom → An Extra Care Charge may apply.
- Discontinue the groom → The $40 Grooming Assessment fee will cover the assessment and work completed during the first 30 minutes of the appointment.
For cats who are new to grooming or whose owners are unsure how they'll respond in a salon environment, the Grooming Assessment can also be booked as a standalone service. This allows our groomers to better understand your cat's temperament, discuss the safest grooming approach, and help make future grooming visits as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
