This course is designed for students who already have foundational grooming skills and want to improve their technique, control, and finishing quality. 

 

The focus is on refining cutting work, improving handling of more difficult cats, and learning different grooming styles.

Cat models provided

All live cat models are provided by Neko Neko Academy. Students are not required to bring their own cats, and all cats used are selected and cared for with welfare as the top priority.

Who should take the Advanced Cat Grooming Course?

Do I need to complete the Professional Cat Grooming Programme before enrolling?

Yes. Students are expected to have completed the Professional Grooming Foundations course or possess equivalent experience. This ensures that the focus remains on advancing skills rather than revisiting basics.

Is this course suitable for beginners?

No. This is not a beginner course. The Advanced Grooming Course builds on existing skills and assumes familiarity with handling, basic grooming workflow, and safety practices.

Will I receive SKC or ISFC certification after completing the Advanced Cat Grooming Course?

No. The certificate awarded by Neko Academy is not an SKC or ISFC certification. External certifications are issued only by their respective organisations and require candidates to sit for official exams under their rules. Our courses are structured to prepare and support students toward that pathway, for those who choose to pursue external certification.

Is this course related to certification exams?

The Advanced Grooming Course is not a certification exam course. However, it builds many of the skills required for certification readiness. Students intending to sit for SKC / ISFC exams are expected to progress into the Certificate Preparation Course when exam dates are announced.

Will I be able to perform full grooming after this course?

The course supports students in moving toward full grooming responsibilities. However, competence is developed through a combination of training, experience, and continued practice. This course forms an important step in that progression.

Is this course suitable if I only want to groom my own cat?

These courses are structured as professional-level training, with a strong focus on handling, judgement, and responsibility. While they are designed for those entering or progressing in the cat care industry, cat owners who want a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of grooming are also welcome!
